I watch television a lot and I love British shows despite never having lived in the UK .Last summer I got Directv in my room, with it came BBC America, now I've seem some BBC America while visiting my sister and from when my older brother would visit and bring his box and set it up in the living room, that was a few years back and the programming was great and from what I remember no constant showings of Gordon Ramsey or Top Gear, absolutely no American shows at all. Today however this channel has become the home of Ramsey,Top Gear, repeated repeats of Dr. Who and American shows. They try to lure people by showing drama one day a week or one night a week,I should say and at ten (7 with directv) and comedy one night a week. The rest of the times the airwaves are filled with constant Gordon ramsey,Top gear and American shows like X-Files,Star trek and now they have started to show Battlestar Galatica.
The problem lies with the people in charge of programming, now I am in no way trying to be mean, but I don't think people who used to run MTV Comedy central and lifetime should be running BBC America ,they should get people who used to run PBS or BBC or any other British venue.
I have emailed BBC America countless times and will continue to email them until I see improvements not just in the prime time line up which I don't care about, but in their day time line up,because until they do and go back to being a TRUE BBC America channel, they might as well drop the BBC from their name and call themselves.
